Treasurerʼs Report

Kim Parker presented the Treasurerʼs report from May 14, 2014 through June 18, 2014. The reported income was $414.87 from dues received, interest, and finance charges. Total expenses paid out were $552.78 for Lake Maintenance and the Dumpster leaving a balance of $10,343.48. It was reported that we still have 1 homeowner that needs to send in their HOA dues. Sharon Hanson made a motion to approve the Treasurerʼs Report as presented and Dianne Simmons seconded the motion. All approved.

Old Business

  1.  Lakes — Warren Stevenson and Dick Hassler sprayed the Cutrine on both lakes to help control the algae. They have not yet been able to spray the Rodeo for the cattails due to the extreme wind. The spraying is still pending and will be done as soon as weather permits.
  2. Work Party – The work party held on Saturday, June 14th at 10:00 am was a success. 15 people showed up to help. Both lake areas were trimmed and cleaned up in a record amount of time. Thanks go out to everyone who helped.
  3. Gazebo – It has been decided that in the fall the Gazebo will be burned down. It is currently located on the small lake behind the Skyles property. We will ask Mike Skyles to secure a burn permit through the Kearney Fire Department to ensure that we will be in compliance with county laws. A date has not yet been set for this project.
  4. 4th of July Party – The Twin Lakes 4th of July celebration will be held June 28, at 7:00 pm at the Shelter house at the big lake. Everyone is asked to bring a dessert, chairs and their own beverages. The TLHA association will provide games and prizes, lemonade, watermelon, music and the grand finale of a fireworks display. All preparation is well underway headed by Dianne Simmons. The board will be going around to all homeowners to present them with a flyer and ask for a donation to help pay for the fireworks display.
  5. Mowing Compliance – Letters were sent out notifying homeowners who were not in compliance with our CCRs mowing regulations. All have responded by mowing as necessary with the exception of one homeowner who is “trying” to get it done. A notification was placed in the Kearney Courier giving that homeowner 20 days to become compliant with our rules. If the mowing doesnʼt get finished, the TLHA will hire out the job for $100.00 and all expenses will be billed to the homeowner.

New Business

  1. Road Repair – The roads in our subdivision have pot holes, and really bad patch work and it is a stress on all of our vehicles. A petition is being drawn up to present to the Clay County Commission to pave the roads in our subdivision with asphalt. The petition will be taken around personally to each homeowner at the time we pass out the 4th of July flyers and each homeowner will be asked to read and sign it. Warren Stevenson will present the petition to the Clay County Commission.
  2. Rules Sign – The rules and regulations sign by the Shelter house has some missing type on it due to wear and tear. Warren Stevenson will purchase the necessary lettering needed to fix the sign and repair it.
  3. Trees and Bushes – The MO Conservation Department has a catalog available for anyone who wants to purchase trees and/or bushes for their property at a very inexpensive cost. Any person who wants a copy of this catalog can go online to mdc.mo.gov/node/3328 and order a copy.

There being no further business Dick Hassler motioned to adjourn at 8:20 pm. Kim Parker seconded the motion. All approved.

Next meeting will be held Tuesday, September 16 at 6:30 pm at the home of Kim Parker.

Respectfully submitted
Sharon Hanson, Secretary

One Response to Board Meeting Minutes – June 18, 2014
  1. The current efforts of the TLHA board are obvious.I as a home owner very much appreciate the ongoing effort. The work party turnout to clean up the lakes before the 4th party shows good support for the board. The common area maintenance gives a professional appearance to those who drive by our plan.
    Thank You,
    James A. Irwin
